I had 3 estimates to do my upstairs bath remodel. Jim was the only one to realize that my tiny shower was so dark that I’d be showering ‘blind’ without a light. He is the only one to suggest installing a waterproof light and it’s great. Also, he added some colored tile to my tiny shower making it visually more appealing and giving the illusion that it’s a bit larger than it actually is. The extra care and attention he took is still pleasing me years later.

Jim took the time to cut down my kitchen cabinets when a few other contractors told me it was impossible. This made the opening large enough to accommodate the range of my dreams. Also, my new basement bath is so very spacious and unique due to the time and extraordinary effort to make my ceiling as high as possible. It took many cuts and angles to add a few extra inches that makes the difference between feeling like you’re stuck in an elf’s bath and feeling like you can stretch out and experience as much room as possible in a small space. It’s esthetically pleasing and adds so much to what would have been a pretty small and uninteresting space.

The most important reason I chose Norman Construction was that I knew that Jim would do an excellent job and add his personality and attention to detail that I so much appreciate. It’s like hiring an artist vs. just a ‘hammer and nail’ guy. I hope to win the lottery and pay off my loans so that I can hire you again to remodel my kitchen! "Jim is very organized and non-intrusive. I could have had a party while Jim was working and no one would have known he was here. The renovations were exactly what we wanted. We had a leaking toilet – obviously getting the toilet replaced along with new floor tile not only fixed our leak but improved the look of the room dramatically. Also, Jim went the extra mile and replaced some suspect toilet fittings as well.

"We were both very pleased with the work your company did for us. The quality of work was exceptional and Jim is pleasant and easy to work with.

Jim raised our kitchen ceiling and replaced our old fluorescent lighting in the kitchen and laundry room with updated recessed lighting. It was a difficult job because of the radiant heat in the ceiling. The kitchen is beautiful and it looks clean and modern compared to its old ‘70’s-‘80’s look. It’s a brighter more open working space now and when my 6’10” brother-in-law visits, he will be able to stand in the kitchen without brushing his hair on the ceiling! We both love the lights over the bar. We appreciate all of Jim’s extra work moving our water pipes around and his observation that our attic insulation was about half of what we needed (we had that taken care of)!

We also appreciate the pictures he took of our in-ceiling water pipes and his saving the piece of sheetrock imbedded with the radiant heat wires (weird). We know the job was complex and not in a very high price range, so we’re extra grateful. Thank You!"
